The wife checked her husband’s phone and noticed three saved contacts:

  • Tender One
  • Amazing One
  • Lady of My Dreams

Her stomach sank.

She stared at the screen for a moment before deciding to call the first number.

“Hello?” a woman answered.

Her mind raced.

So it’s true…

With trembling hands, she called the second contact.

Another woman picked up.

Her heart dropped further.

By the time she reached the third number—Lady of My Dreams—she could barely breathe.

She tapped call.

Her own phone rang immediately.

She froze.

Everything stopped.

And then the realization hit.

She had misread everything.

Relieved and embarrassed, she later apologized to her husband, overwhelmed by guilt for doubting him. Wanting to make it up to him, she gave him her entire month’s salary.

He accepted it without hesitation.

Later that day, he sent a message to someone saved in his phone as:

“Gafoor the Mechanic.”

Another Misunderstanding…

A man was sitting in the living room reading the newspaper when his wife suddenly walked up behind him and hit him on the head.

“Ow! What was that for?” he asked.

She held up a piece of paper.

“What’s this? I found it in your pocket. It says ‘Mary.’”

The man sighed. “Honey, it’s not what you think. Mary was the name of a horse I bet on at the races.”

His wife relaxed immediately. “Oh… okay.”

A few days later, the man was again sitting peacefully reading when his wife stormed in and slapped him across the face.

He stared at her in shock. “Now what was that for?!”

She replied calmly:

“Your horse called.”

Trust can be fragile.

Sometimes it breaks over a misunderstanding…
and sometimes the misunderstanding was never the real problem to begin with.
