Eleanor had lived in her peaceful suburban house for more than thirty years, always keeping a close eye on her expenses. So when her electricity bill suddenly doubled, she immediately knew something was wrong. Confused and worried, she started trying to figure out what could have caused it.
One evening, she heard a soft humming sound coming from outside. When she looked through the window, she noticed her neighbor Monica’s electric car parked beside her garage—with a charging cable connected to Eleanor’s outlet.
Shocked, Eleanor stepped outside and confronted her. Monica casually admitted that she had been using the electricity, dismissing it as “just for a little while.” But this time, Eleanor stood her ground and asked her to unplug the cable.
