Those faint lines form the vehicle’s rear defroster grid, a wonderfully simple yet exceptionally clever electrical heating system built directly into the glass. When you press the defroster button on your dashboard, an electrical current travels directly through these conductive ceramic-silver strips, creating a controlled, gentle heat across the entire surface of the glass. This steady warmth quickly melts stubborn frost, dissolves ice crystals, and helps clear heavy fog from the rear window in a matter of minutes.
