“Mom? What’s wrong? Did I do something bad?”

As I watched her slowly eat her ice cream, I answered, “Oh, no, sweetheart.”

“Grandma did something wrong. She lied to both you and me. And she behaved very badly. We’re not going to see her anymore.”

She asked, “And Aunty Alexa?”

“We’re not going to see her anymore either. She hurt Daddy a long time ago. And… she isn’t a good person. And what do I say about people who aren’t nice?”

“We stay away from them!” she exclaimed with a grin, remembering the words.

Neither Alexa nor Cheryl was home when we got there.

However, Jason was.

When he said, “Hello, baby,” Bev ran straight into his arms.

“Jason, we need to talk.”

As I explained everything to him, we sent Bev off to play with her toys.

To provide further proof, I showed him the video.

For a long time, he remained silent, his face pale.

“She will never see Beverly again. Never. I don’t care.”

Cheryl tried to get in touch.

She attempted to defend herself.

I blocked her number.

Not everyone deserves a second chance.
